We would like to take a closer look at a stand we created for Ote. Here you can see two versions of the stand at the Bold Optical Fair, with several differences between them.
Why are there differences? Because there were areas for improvement and adjustments were needed.
For example, the location of the stand had changed. A different position in the exhibition hall almost always requires adjustments, as visitor flow and sightlines change. That is why we adapted the light boxes and signage to suit the new location.
We also received feedback on the bar, which meant the 2025 design needed to be further developed. During the previous edition, the client noticed that an open bar did not work as well in practice. So we changed it. Not because it necessarily had to look different, but because we work together with our clients to understand what actually works in practice.
That is why it is so important to look at a stand again after its first edition.
And there were many more small and larger adjustments. Because a stand is never simply a finished product. By experiencing, evaluating and developing, it becomes better and better.
A stand is more than just a beautiful space. It has to work.
In the original design, wooden platforms were combined with artificial grass, creating a small height difference of around 2 cm. Visually, this worked perfectly with the festival-inspired look and feel. In practice, however, it turned out to be a potential trip hazard.
The sound system was another point for improvement. The light boxes created additional possibilities for positioning the speakers, and we also opted for better speakers, including an amplifier.
The amplifier was placed in the pantry, which was also new for this edition. The pantry provided additional storage space as well, something that proved to be very useful after the previous edition.
When designing an exhibition stand, we always look beyond the visual appearance. Behind a beautiful bar, like the one on this stand, a lot is going on. And that is exactly where the practical side of things needs to be right.
These may not be the things exhibitors or visitors notice first, but they make all the difference between a café that looks good and a café that actually works throughout the exhibition day.
Because good stand design is not only about what you see. It is also about everything that needs to work behind the scenes.
We like to think about all of this from the very first design stage. Together with our clients, we create a stand that is not only attractive, but above all practical, functional and ready for a successful exhibition.
